I assumed that it would shorten lamp life. I won't run it often, since I'd use it only if I wanted a warmer 3000k over the 4100k of my other 26-42w PL's.
Well, running a lamp designed for 0.22A using ballast designed for 0.33A lamps means the "shortened life a bit" would mean the "a bit" to be a normally "10k hour" life rated lamp to fail after just few 100's hours.
It goes really pretty fast...
