I put a 12V candelabra base bulb from a battery operated candle into a 120V night light then plugged it in. Went pop!
 :poof:

I had a similar experience with plugging low voltage E12 LED candle lamps into 120v mains and they all burned out. In addition, I also recalled dropping a CFL light bulb in my grandparents’ basement and breaking it after getting a shock while trying to replace the lamp.

My neighbour asked do you understand electrics I got this lamp from my deceised mother... Well I'll give it a try. He did try is before and it wasn't working (of course) because he messed up the wiring. I tried to fix it while trying not to touch the bare wire, which wasn't a success, so I got shocked with 230V. It didn't really hurt but after a hefty reflex I asked if he could please turn the power off ;D
