Diehard MV, HPS, SOX & Preheat Fluorescent Fanatic

Favourite: Aldridge LEDs. Haven't seen any fail yet and best of all, they have replaceable drivers and LED panels. These lights also weigh a ton because the cast aluminium housing is also a giant heatsink. Least Favourite: Anything that looks like a giant spatula and goes after 2 months of service.
Design-wise, my favourite fixture is the MK1/MK2 Sylvania StreetLED but these lights have been plagued with driver failures which is why they don't earn top sopt. This is why the Aldridge fixtures are my favourite

Fluro starter pings combined with a 50hz ballast hum and blinking tubes is music to my ears.

Not many failures where I am. The NXTs in Brookline hold up pretty well.

HID lighting is the best!!!
|
I don't like LED but I would say the AEL Autobahn Series is my favorite LED streetlight and least favorite is Leotek Greencobra. Still any GE m400 or AEL 125 is preferred over LED.

LED fixtures are kind of meh. The best looking ones are usually mimicking former incandescent or HID fixtures so they're more just disguising themselves as vintage rather than bringing anything new to the table. And most of the fully dedicated LED fixtures are either plain white panels, disks or gray heat sink covered monstrosities. Can't say I find any of them to be my "favorite" I think of them in the same ball park as a railing on a stair case in a factory or a door hinge. They are utilitarian.
