There's been some discussion on this before, I think in this thread: https://www.lighting-gallery.net/index.php?topic=13311.0As for topics regarding stocking up due to bans and such, there's about dozen of those kind of threads on here.

Another reason I like to stock up is so that when I get new fixtures and they don't have a lamp or are missing a part, I can use stuff in my stockpiles. The F20T12 tubes are a great example of this because I used to have a shortage on them and now I have plenty to keep me going for a while

Fluro starter pings combined with a 50hz ballast hum and blinking tubes is music to my ears.

Some collectors who have not built up a small stock will still experience a nasty surprise. By that I mean specifically the accessories for lamps: ballast, leak transformer and igniter. The offer for this accessory has decreased significantly on eBay in the last 5 years. There's no need to panic. Don't wait any longer, start now.

Yeah, I've been picking up spare ballasts, ignitors, capacitors, and lampholders if I see them at places like Restore. Magnetic fluorescent ballasts were getting phased out here long before LEDs took over so I've seen stocking some extras for a while now.

Resolutely crack down on inferior LED lighting!!

I feel like for someone like me who has been using a fixture to light up the MH , there should be a lot of triggers to hoard. Because they are very easy to damage under my frequent switching.

In the last 10 years I started stock pilling again after I realized that most old tech lamp stuff is getting rare, removed and not available anymore. I’m mainly after old classic Swiss streetlights and their parts which are now not existent anymore outside. For every lantern in stock I have at least a pair of lamp sockets, bowls, gaskets all the needed gears and other parts. Also very rare or hard to come by lamps like Powergrooves and other T12 tubes, rare incandescent lamps and many different kind of HID lamps I keep in stock as I’m going to use them one day.

I agree with that too, and I feel like I should hoard some of that as well.
