A town near me "retrofitted" all its Christmas lights to LED (BORING!!) and I have a friend who works for the city government there.  He knew I ran the C-7 twinkle lights on my outdoor tree every year.  He told me they had just thrown away THOUSANDS of C7 twinkle bulbs and put LEDs in their place.  He said he would check and see if there were anymore and bring them to me.  He brought me several hundred new never used clear C7 twinkle bulbs that he was told to throw away!  Our tax dollars at work!
