After finding that European F36T8 fluorescent tubes are able to satisfactorily run on most 1940s and 1950s “brick” style North American 2 lamp F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube lead lag autotransformer ballasts, I also know that European F36T8 fluorescent tubes often have problems maintaining an arc on the lead side of later small case North American 2 lamp F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube lead lag autotransformer ballasts. However, I am not entirely sure on whether European F36T8 fluorescent tubes will satisfactorily operate on the 1940s and 1950s “long john” style North American 2 lamp F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube lead lag autotransformer ballasts. Does anyone know if the long john F40T12 preheat ballasts will have problems running European F36T8 fluorescent tubes?
