When was this made? (Updated) Westinghouse gold and GE Power Groove « on: October 15, 2009, 07:03:13 PM » Author: static1701
Hello,

While we wait for the picture uploads to be fixed, I have posted some links to some of my newest lights. Can anyone tell me when they were made?

http://static1701.myvnc.com/3/100_5157.jpg  GE Power Groove
http://static1701.myvnc.com/3/100_8519.jpg  Westinghouse gold

Here are some pics of the Power Groove bulbs I just got:

I got 7 power groove bulbs and they are all daylight but look to have been made at different times as the distance from the ends to the first groove is different on some of them. I will take a picture of the difference when I get a chance.

Already fixed the one with the bad end cap.

I use real incandescent Christmas lights, miniature lights from the 70's, C6's from the 50's and modern C7's and C9's. NO ugly LED's! I don't care what it cost. Real Christmas lights and Preheat Fluorescent!

Nice find! The GE F40PG17/D was made in '75, the Westy F30T8/GO was made in '60. Maybe you could provide date codes for all of the PGs? Then I can date each one.

Thank you, Some of the etch has come of on some of them so I don't know if you will be able to date them all.

http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5165.jpg Here is a picture of all of them.
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5166.jpg Close up

http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5167.jpg Bulb 1
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5168.jpg Bulb 2
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5169.jpg Bulb 3
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5170.jpg Bulb 3 close up
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5171.jpg Bulb 3 Another close up
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5172.jpg Bulb 4
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5173.jpg Bulb 5
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5174.jpg Bulb 6
http://static1701.myvnc.com/4/100_5175.jpg Bulb 7

The underline on a few of the bulbs seems to be under the E in "power" and the E and "groove"

I love things that were made long ago and still work. Goes to show the quality that went into things back then. The auction for the PG's said they were in an outdoor beer sign. They have seen some hours and still work well.

I like Power Groove the best out of everything I have collected. I wish I could find them in Warm White...my favorite color for fluorescent lamps.
