Boob light used as ceiling fan light kit. « on: November 29, 2021, 04:51:42 AM » Author: WorldwideHIDCollectorUSA
While searching for videos on DIY ceiling fan light kits, I noticed this video of a ceiling fan with a flushmount boob light being used as a light kit:

I have a Monte Carlo ceiling fan catalog from 2009, and there was a light kit with the part number MC59. Although it's intended as a ceiling fan light kit, it looks exactly like a "boob" light.

The apartment in Corpus Christi I stayed in a few years back had several square boob (pyramid?) lights.  Ceiling fans used the same glass for their lights.

Actually that's a pretty commonly used term for those common half dome glass ceiling fixtures. Usually they take 1 to 3 standard lamps.

Even on Facebook marketplace I see sellers calling them that. Its just because of the appearance caused by the single lug in the middle to hold the shade.

And yes I've thought about using those on a ceiling fan. I would remove the fiberglass from the backside of the fixture completely before doing it though.
