I shouldn't worry about it, humour is a very subjective thing, not everyone finds the same things funny.

Personally, I found this particular picture humorous, but not side-splitting silly.

How could a streetlight pointing straight up to light up the sky not be hysterical??

Sometimes things are just meant to be funny.

Yeah, it was funny, but not funny enough for me to roll on the floor laughing, which would happen if all the L*D street lights in Aberdeen suddenly failed at once

Like I said Jamie, humour is subjective, we don't all find the same things funny. There'd be an awful lot of comedians out of work if only one made us all laugh 

As for trying to understand people, I sometimes wonder if it's worth it
