Watt miser tube time line « on: June 25, 2021, 09:04:32 PM » Author: Bulbman256
Hello all,

I have been researching the watt-miser line of tubes and have created a basic timeline for the F40T12 variant, seen below.

1974: 35w watt miser tubes came out.
1978?: lite white lamps were introduced, Lite white was also called Watt Miser II
1981: Switched to 34w lamps
1988: Went to black etched lamps, removed watt miser II nomenclature for Lite white
200x: Line was discontinued

Anyone know where the 32w plus lamps fit in or when it was discontinued? :wndr:

32 watt T12 4 footer watt-miser   Required a ballast on it own.  So it never really took off.

I do know Norelco ( philips) made 35 watt tubes
Into mid 1980s.  As I have a pair of norelco screw balls
35 watts made on westinghouse machinery.

Well I would say first energy saving tube would be F90T17 as it was orginally  F100T17
