2008 AEL Catalog « on: May 03, 2021, 07:14:07 PM » Author: LightsoftheWest
I've found a catalog from American Electric that was published in 2008. I found this from a site called Issuu; I don't know much about it. I am posting this for everyone's convenience and information.
The link is here.

I have a couple printed copies of this edition 3 product guide from AEL. I called AEL like 10 years ago and asked them to send me a few copies. I also have DTL product brochures that I had also asked them to send me at that same time.

Nice find! Cool seeing the SOX luminaires that they once made.

A 2007 catalogue would be a cool find too, as it would have still shown the MV options.

Thanks! I was surprised when I saw their LPS luminaires. I thought they'd quit making them at that point.

Definitely, I would have wanted to see their MV luminaires.

There's a bunch of spec sheets from the ITT era available here but I don't have anything from the early-mid 2000s. It seems they started discontinuing their LPS luminaires at that point. AEL used to make a SOX 18 tallpack and a Series 11 that used SOX 35.

Here's an older spec sheet for the 115 that lists MV as an option.

The page for the AEL 165 still lists MV as an option! LOL And the picture of it shows a blue 40 NEMA tag still.

Wow I wasn't expecting to see LED in there. I did not realize AEL started offering LED fixtures as far back as winter 2008.

It's just a mistake. MV isn't an option anymore on any fixtures of course.

I might still have most of the AEL data sheets I downloaded before they stopped selling fixtures with MV ballasts. I'll double-check.

I looked through my lighting files and I found this AEL catalogue, version 1 from 2002 or so that has all the MV listings. The 327 was still listed as available in 700w MV. The file was too big to attach directly to this post so I uploaded it to a 3rd party host.

I've found a Holophane outdoor lighting catalog from the same site. I believe it's from 2008 as well.

Interesting. I thought the 115 came out in 2003.

It did, I believe this catalog is actually from around 2005 or so. Also, notice how on the optic distribution section for the 115 it lists 150w MV.  :o I'm guessing it's a typo though because AEL catalogs seem to have lots of those in my experience.

Makes sense. I was looking at the spec sheet for the Appleton Mercmaster LN Series, and it also listed 150W MV as an option.
