I spotted this Powerlite mini gumball on eBay today. It's the rarer mercury vapour version which is similar to the incandescent model but has a taller head to accommodate a ballast as well as a P/C socket.

No idea on wattage, might be 100w, might be 125w.

The lamp looks 175W to me.

Interestingly enough, it's located in Maine.

The seller might be noticing a lot of interest in the item. As a seller you can see how many views your listing gets, as well as the number of interested buyers that have it on their watch list. If there's a lot of views and/or watchers then a seller might increase the price once they notice how much interest there is. I do it as well. The more interest the higher the price goes.

Maybe they realized that with all the eBay fees, they'd lose money?

It also says that they turned down an offer on 4/27/21 . The next morning they changed the price .

Same here, it would be interesting to see if that lamp is 100w or a rare 125w clear. The socket looks to be medium base so I don't think it's 175w.

Also finding out how the ballast is mounted would be interesting too.

Also, it seem have mirror inside coat cap at top of clear bulb!
