My Glacier Bay "water-saving" toilet clogs itself up almost every week. Using the plunger doesn't work mostly, but if you wait a few minutes it will unclog by itself.

Sometimes my toilet will unclog itself in a few seconds. For reference, my toilet is a Mansfield toilet from 2000, original to the house.

Use Anthony Sullivan's "As Seen on TV" pushover plunge to slam the lid and let the air pressure do the "dirty work." Also get an American Standard, 99% clog free from my experience.
