I was thinking back on the things I've achieved in my life, and flying a glider solo must rate right up at the top. Second only to getting married to Ria. It took me a long time to get there and the primary training was in a in a Sedbergh T.21 with the two seats side by side. The secondary training and the glider I flew solo was in a Kirby cadet Mk.3 The solo flight was just a single circuit and couldn't have lasted more than a few minutes, but it was wonderful These types of glider were used from 1950 right up until just after I flew solo in 1984.

When it comes to memorable achievements I can think of 4 careerwise but a most recent achievement was when Ria told me that I've been like a brother to her and Sammi. That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever had

One truly memorable achievement was when I showed a crew from my local power company, Florida Power & Light, that I was able to wire a 3phase transformer bank, man were they surprised!

That was so cool! I was watching you show these guys how it's done and I just wanted to bust, I was so proud!

As an average teenage most of what I do doesn't seem to really be an achievement, but what i do consider one was when last summer i spent 6 hours with a family friend wiring and installing outlets and the electrical boxes to then install a few under cabinet lights.

My most memorable achievement was meeting up with another collector from Lighting-Gallery last month. I met rlshieldjr and at the meet got a few items. This was the first time I’ve ever met in person with someone who is in the same hobby. Some of the stuff I got is posted in my gallery. It was a really good meet.

Always good to meet people face to face, sadly there aren't any other LG members in this area, the nearest is 100 miles away

"A secret to happiness is letting every situation be what it is, instead of what you think it should be, and then making the best of it."
Please refer to www.insulators.info where I periodically post many images of lights and insulators in the group's Picture Poster Gallery. Thank you.
