Harder to find MV lights? « on: February 14, 2021, 01:49:41 PM » Author: Cole D.
Have anyone noticed it's harder to find MV fixtures on ebay lately? There was one 60s MV NEMA on there about a year ago that I still wish I gotten, but since then I haven't seen much older stuff. There are some MV GE 201SA fixtures (residential version NEMA heads) but they are both overpriced, IMO.

I am thinking about getting one of the Cooper HPS NEMA heads but nothing else on there really appeals to me right now.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

I've noticed that eBay items seem to come and go in waves. When I 1st got on eBay 3.5 years ago there were clamshells and BT-25 lamps basically everywhere , now they're virtually non-existent .  The opposite has occurred with the 50w GE enameled bowl incandescent I bought recently. There were none listed , now there's DOZENS of them listed .

I've noticed that too. Years ago it was basically impossible to find a F40 tulamp preheat ballast on there and now there's seen to be at least a couple. The same also applies for places like Restore and local sellers.

MV hasn't been used for years here so they were always harder to find compared to HPS or MH.

Hello Cole D.,

the same problem is in Germany. There are fewer old fixtures available.
Now it is very expensive when a rare fixture comes along.
The sellers have noticed that we are collectors and are asking for higher prices.

Greetings from Hamburg
