Well that was an interesting afternoon... 

Our task today was to cut the pole down to the right length and wire up the lantern. 

Somebody measured the length to be cut off incorrectly though, and we will have to cut more off at the next attempt. 

It could have been worse though, we might have cut too much off.

I grew up using them when I helped daddy with things that he was doing.    It used to drive my woodwork teacher mad when I refused to use those nasty new fangled metric things...

Gary is standing up on his pole and we're just waiting for the sand/rock salt mix to set before we move him to his final position.
