I have started a thread designated specifically for interesting lights on Street View. Remember, try not to post too many screenshots or other visible photos of Street View as Google has claimed copyright and the administration could be flagged. Links are highly recommended and preferred.

Cool, I’ll start then, some wide lights seen on an old transport yard in Manchester UK, quite a surprise to me as I wasn’t aware we ever used them here, I thought they were just a US thing?

Sorry for the photos, but without zooming in you can’t see these from a normal street view link!

Links are fine, but no photos please. We don't want to be held responsible for copyright issues.

I recommend you to post the image on third party sites like Postimages, so the copyright issues will go to them and the worst thing can happen is to get your picture deleted. And be careful guys, there are Google bots laying around here 24/7 and in pretty much all the sites, if they find out that anyone infringed the copyright Google would probably track down that person till getting the Email.

I'm going to post an example of how links should be posted. My example is a GE Form 109 by my church that sadly got removed. 1. See here. 2. See here: https://earth.app.goo.gl/qGrz7i

That's fine, although personally I prefer the addition of the flags to make the links bold and underlined. It increases visibility a lot, which is why most web pages do it.

Here's the last remaining SOX luminaire on the Gardiner. The rest of the poles all had the same luminaires too but were replaced with HPS in 2006. Old GEC MA/V luminaire. I actually do have a picture of it, just not a good one. It still works but it looks to have been LEDized. BTW in terms of the offcial guidelines for sharing Streetview content, see here.

While looking at some cities in Mexico via google street view, I found a LED street lantern that was replaced with a CFL yardblaster in the city of Cuernavaca, Morelos. Who would make such a silly downgrade to an older lighting technology? We never saw that when we went past the salt mine in 2019, but we were on the canal...

Don’t know if there’s still a power supply to this, but it would be nice to re- light for nostalgia!, and I bet the gear 100% still works!

Then there’s this old sodium lantern on what used to be the old Manweb electricity depot in Crewe, the missing door suggests this doesn’t work anymore, but it certainly did back in the early 90s!
