Beautiful! The entire neighbourhood looks to be still using them in the Streetview. I wonder if they're still there.
The ballasts look to be regular NEMA 3R enclosures so I wonder if they were replaced with HPS ballasts. Usually the MV remote ballasts were a cylindrical can about the size of a paint can.

Yeah it’s interesting, I remember where I lived in Oromocto with those old streetlights, they had those round remote ballasts, I always wondered what they were when I was a kid, very interesting, There was some interesting ballast variety too, probably for different wattages or Metal Halides.
Also, only one way to find out, maybe I’ll go there at night and see!

Yeah, it would be amazing if they were HPS retrofitted too. I posted a thread a few weeks ago wondering if any LG members spotted HPS clamshells, especially ones on a public road. If these are HPS, these might be the first ones posted on LG. If you happen to go out and see, try to get some pictures too. I spotted this radial wave with some PAR lamps retrofitted in it.

Sadly, the last GE M1000 in Boston is gone. Here's where it was.

Yeah . I wonder if that road in Ohio that someone linked a while back on Streetview with the 700w M-1000s still have them in use. Might be on the older pages of this thread.

I always loved these M1000s in Boston because of their 700W ballasts.
