What's your favorite version of Cobra Head? « on: November 26, 2020, 02:31:12 PM » Author: Cole D.
What source/wattage, drop lens, sag lens or full cut off, photocell socket or none, etc?

For me it really depends on the fixture. I really like the vintage drop lens mercury cobras like GE M-400, Westinghouse OV-25, etc.

But I also for some reason like the FCO cobras, especially metal halide ones, and in black or brown, which seem rarer. To me these are unusual and sort of as modern as cobra heads went. Well, unless you count the LED cobras like Cooper's OVH.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

My favorite version of a cobrahead in general is one that has a glass refractor and has a PC socket, no matter what brand it is and the lamp type it has.

My favorite would be a cobrahead with a photocell socket and glass drop refractor, in 200w HPS.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

I also like AEG Koffers. Do these count as cobraheads?
