I have (and had) several ALTOs. Currently I have:
- 2 F20T12/CW, brand new from Wal-Mart
- an F34T12/CW/EW, found in the dumps.
- an F40T12/DX, also found in the dumps.
- A pair of F30T12/KB, brand new from Wal-Mart.
Also I had:
- A 2nd F34T12/CW/EW that I killed during an experiment LOL. I'll throw it away.
- An F32T8/TL741/UNIVERSAL/HI-VISION found in the dumps, it never worked. I'll throw it away with the F34.

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights! Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

If you're talking about the green endcaps, yeah it's a Philips' feature on their ecologic fluorescents. Most manufacturers rather use green etches instead.

Speaking of ALTOS's, I found an article about them here. I figured this would be an interesting read for you guys. An interesting Duane Reade.

I read this article...and it explains very clearly and precisely why ALTOs are so bad...they are the worst fluorescent lamps ever made...complete and utter JUNK!
