I was given a 2 lamp F72T12 slimline strip light. I don't have lamps for it and don't want to buy them until I'm sure it's good. the person who gave it to me didn't know anything about it.
The ballast has no label or identifying markings. I know some ballasts will run F72 AND F96 lamps and since I have a bunch of free F96T12 Tubes theoretically, could I test it with 2 of them ??

I don't know or claim to know much about fluorescent lights so any help would be appreciated.  Thanks !!

Yep, it should work with F96's for testing (you could even use F40T12's .. doesn't really matter for a short-term test)
