Do you like "yes/no riddles"?
I'm going to tell a story. Everyone can ask questions that
can be answered with a "yes" or a "no" about the situation until you figure out the solution.
(I'll be answering your questions with: "yes", "no" or possibly "irrelevant".)
Let's light an imaginary campfire and enjoy the story...
Mark and Jane have a severe quarrel.
He packs up and while he drives off he shouts out: "You're going to live in the darkness without me!"
Jane cries for an hour, then she turns out the light and goes to sleep.
Next evening she needs to lit a candle because the room is dark.
What has happend?

Mark took some tool or key required to start the light - starter for FL, lighter/matches for candles
If we are talking about fuel powered devices (generator, candles, ..) he knew the fuel won't last long enough to reach tomorrow's night if left to run continuously, so there is no choice but to turn out the light to save on fuel, and assumed that there is no way to "store" the fire (e.g. by making fire with something else)

Yes. Jane used fluorescent lighting and Mark removed starters from the fixtures. This didn't turn them off but prevented them from being turned on in the next evening.
That was a very easy one for LG people but might be difficult for a common user.
Once a coworker gave us a yes/no riddle about a filament bulb he had purchased... that didn't have a filament at all. It wasn't a very typical problem at that time so it took us some time to figure out.
"There's a problem with the light bulb base."
"No"
"The filament isn't properly connected."
"No"
"The filament is broken."
"No"
(...what on earth it is if the filament is properly connected and it isn't broken
)

I have a similar type riddle, which i made some 10 years ao and occasionally present it to peeps. It is not a Yes/No, but a "find the problem" one where you can ask things like "i try to do X" and get answer to what happens. To date 2 peeps found the answer
Let me prepare the graphicsThe "Beast Riddle" (aka pumps mysteriously flooding the castle) by Ash isn't here anymore.
It will (or will not) be started by Ash in a new topic.
