When a MH lamps becomes pink, it enters at his EOL (end of life); the lamp will burn out soon, or explode  :o I'm not sure HOW does it become pink. I think sodium halide or simply sodium in arc tube go covering the electrodes and get the start voltage higher. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Beware - Pink is a warning colour, to warn you to change the lamp ASAP... or else   BANG!

Then the lamp has a lot of thallium in it or it's a worn out CMH lamp.

Possibly the lamp was a MH filled with Thallium so the EOL colour will be Green!
