Carbon arc searchlights « on: May 31, 2008, 11:54:30 PM » Author: DimBulb
Are there any old WWII Carbon Arc Searchlights still being used for grand-openings etc?? I remember seeing these slowly rotating back in the 70s and maybe early 80s. It seems like that beam would almost go from horizon to horizon. Maybe it was a West Coast thing.

Not sure, I'm pretty sure they use high intensity short arc lamps for this purpose now...
