I just recently learned that the M250R1 I acquired has a Four-Way drop lens, used for intersections (4-Way stops).  I also learned that these are very rare.  The question I have is: How rare are they? I know they are no longer produced, but I was wondering when they stopped producing the Four-Way lenses.

4-way fixtures were rare even back when they were made. It's cheaper to just stock 2-way fixtures because there aren't as many intersections as there are lights between them. Unless you're only installing fixtures at 4-way intersections it just doesn't make sense to use them.

Right now, I have my 4-way lens in my M250R2.  I can definitely see the 'X' pattern light distribution instead of the 'I' pattern.  Makes it a bit brighter in here.  Once I get the R1 back, I'll put it back with it's rightful owner. 😎

The 4-Way pattern uses a special 4-way reflector too. I'd imagine your M-250R1's reflector is different from a typical M-250R1 reflector. Does it have an X formed into it?
