Osram.com specification

It seems these are still available even in the EU, probably thanks to their special properties "Stable and suitable for outdoor lighting or fixtures with little thermal insulation".

Some facts:

  • Tubular fluorescent lamps 38 mm, for resonance double-choke circuits
  • External ignition strip for improved ignition at low ambient temperatures
  • Operation without starter

Does it mean these won't work in a single choke preheat fixture or the starter-less operation is just an option?

  • Color rendering index Ra >= 60
  • Rated LLMF at 2,000 h 0.89
  • Rated LLMF at 8,000 h 0.63
  • Rated LLMF at 12,000 h 0.11
  • Service life 4000 h

Looks like they're halophosphate...?

Does anybody have more info/personal experience? Thanks.

They are halophosphors.
They need just a series chokes and nothing else. I don't think that they should have a problem with starterless ballasts, but I don't know what about SRS or quick-start ballasts.
Since they are designed to be started directly from plain 220-240V, this means that they are starting with cold cathodes. Even if the starting voltage is low, if they use the same electrodes as regular T12s, this means heavy sputtering during starting, so I except that they would have at least beehive electrodes like SOX lamps, to handle the higher loading during starting well.

Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the international date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 220-240V, 50hz country.

These tubes are working whitout any problems on ordinary preheat chokes and starters. They are the same ones like the Philips TL-M and Sylvania F.../I.R.S.
All these tubes are having applied a external starterstrip which is on one side connected via a resistor built in the cap with one lead of the cathode.
