Yeah, my interest in going on here has varied a lot over the past year too. Part of the reason is that North American streetlights don;t get as much interest here than it did in the past and not to be rude but I find it quite tedious to read comments on here who generalize excessively, bash products, and those who go through your post with a fine toothed comb and pick out any errors you made...

Maybe noone comments on your pictures? It can be one-sided and meaningless when that happens.

If you need a break now and then, that is perfectly fine.
I often look at uploads without commenting because I don't have anything to add, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy viewing them. I think many of us appreciate your knowledge in lighting.

If it makes you feel better I've also kinda had reduced interest in this sort of thing lately! Especially since I was off doing other things all summer! Interests do go through cycles, about a year ago I was really into AM radio, then sorta fell out of it. Also at that time was into heavy equipment, (Excavators, etc.); not so much anymore. A thing I think affects hobbies is what your life is like...mine has been very busy with several large "Suprises" that were total game-changers...so I know how you feel.

I hope to always see you on this site, Dave! I understand your point about uploading pics though...such as, in my words, important pieces of lighting history being sort of drowned out by larger quantities of pics that quite often don't seem to have much informative value...which is understandable being we have had quite a steady influx of new members in the last couple of years, if I recall. I think many definitely want to be a part of the site but maybe don't have much to show right now, aren't good at descriptions or want some attention.
It can be frustrating with the increasing amount of daily uploads 'burying' ones own uploads, but that seems to be the nature of the beast. And, as mentioned, many awesome uploads don't necessarily require a comment, and to me, especially if it has a good description like you usually do, questions are already answered.
Despite all of that, I still really enjoy building up my own gallery; and Patrick has been more than outstanding in maintaining this site....and giving us lots of upload space and asks nothing in return except to respect the site rules.
BTW, sorry I haven't chatted in a while...I haven't been online long enough to chat with anyone since I've moved...and my flip phone is a nightmare to text, lol.

Yeah I understand, been busy with my job (which is servicing lighting) and when I get home that's not always what I want to do again is look at more lights, some days I just think that I have some interesting stuff to show so I upload it, like Cavvanus said sometimes there's not much of a comment to leave because: 1. You've already talked about it somewhere else or 2. Its so common and the description answers it already
I find most lighting interesting though, I like new stuff and old, I have looked at many of your incandescents and learned
