Are 100W and 85W 8 foot lamps interchangeable?  We received this question by e-mail, but I do not know the answer myself.  Thanks!

Underdriving a fluorescent lamp, without a proper electrodes heating, may result in the lamp operates with cold cathodes and heavy sputtering.

the 85W 8Ft will not light on a 100W ballast u will just kill the electrodes as it blinks awy the other way round and a 100W tube wont light on a 85W ballast cose there SRS or QS and all u will get is glowing ends
