Hello!

Do you know any manufacturer who makes 100W 4000-4200K e40 based metal halide lamps anymore? CRI should be 80>.

Or is it just better to buy E40 to G12 adapter and use G12 based bulb?

With few adapters you would have way greater chance...
Not only the G12, but E27 are quite common as well...
