Shade groove on ceiling socket « on: November 28, 2024, 09:04:47 AM » Author: Cole D.
Were the “groove” on bare bulb porcelain or plastic ceiling lamp holders ever meant for a shade? I have noticed most of them do have a ring there, and I once read in a store ad it referred to as a “shade groove”.

I haven’t seen any shade for these other than the plastic bowl type that clips onto the bulb.

However, Lowes and Home Depot do sell plastic bulb guards that appear to attach to this groove.
