Are NEMA bucket optics still made? « on: October 31, 2024, 02:40:20 PM » Author: Cole D.
Are the NEMA buckets still being made? Even though the NEMA heads I believe have all been discontinued, they still make led fixtures that are compatible with them.

Just wondering where they might be available. I could use some new ones as I have more NEMA heads than buckets. But they are really difficult to find.

Search up Lexalite Model 280-297. If you're interested, try looking here.

Neat find. I wonder if the top aluminium reflector part with that latches are still available. I have a bucketless NEMA (was originally going use a spare gumball optic with it, but it didn't fit) and another with a cracked bucket. Unfortunately the second one has the bucket crimped on instead of being attached with a tension band.

I actually have a spare 12" reflector from a GE Powr/Bracket that @BT25 gave me awhile back. I don't have a use for it, so I'd be more than happy to give it to someone who does need it.

Those Lexalite buckets are neat!

Yeah as far as the latch on bucket/reflector assembles, I don’t know. I seemed to find a few places that might sell them but they seem to possibly be either not in stock or you have to be a contractor to view it or the price.

This is really nothing new though, as even when HID NEMA fixtures were commonly being made, the optics themselves were scarce to find.

There’s always eBay but they’re getting harder to find since all the new stock GE ones have long since sold out. There’s some used ones on there now but they’re somewhat expensive.

I found some on econolight for cheap, but they’re actually 9” refractors for the RUL LED units. They’d fit, but it would look like a yardblaster, except with a latch on optic.
