Buying Light Fixtures For Spare Parts « on: March 14, 2024, 04:03:27 AM » Author: 108CAM
I recently got these lights and am in the process of parting them out. This has made me feel rather sad at myself because I'm pretty much scrapping fixtures that are still in full working order.

Has anyone else done this? I'd like to know because when I'm not alone with what I do, it makes me feel better knowing that other people have taken the same approach and had a positive outcome.

I bought this : https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=5198&pos=36&pid=226638 with full intentions of parting it out and scrapping the remainder .  I'm in the process of parting out some of my other streetlights that are either in bad shape or missing key parts .  I'm learning that I just can't save all of them !!  One of my scrapped fixtures just provided another collector with a correct ballast for one of his projects .  Eventually you'll either run out of space or piss off the powers that be . ( Family , neighbors , the city !) which will put a seriously tight hold on getting anything else which could come in the form of an ultra rare light you've been looking for for ages .

Kinda how it is with trucks. I want alot of them but I need to pick the ones that speak to me the most due to space constraints.
