I don't own any LPS/SOX lamps and gear and I really would like some because I have never seen it in person. Reply to this post or PM me for offers. Have a nice day!
sooo here is the thing about LPS gear, the lamps and ballasts are very expensive. An LPS ballast can go for $120 and a lamp for $50. ballasts are very hard to find. But there is a solution! you can run an 18-watt SOX lamp on a fulham Workhorse 2 ballast. here are the links for the lamp and ballast/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/122010971693 ... https://www.amazon.com/Philips-234047-18-watt-SOX-E18-Pressure/dp/B004NIRVXO/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=18+watt+low+pressure+sodium+lamp&qid=1620218196&sr=8-3 .... 18-watt SOX lamps are the most common so that is the lamp I suggest. oh! and you will also need a lamp-holder! https://www.ebay.com/itm/164291899534 .... To wire the ballast connect the 2 red wires to 1 wire of the lamp-holder, and then connect the yellow wire to another wire of the lamp-holder. If you have any questions PM me!

Answered via PM because the last time I posted something here it got snapped up immediately.
I believe 35&55w lamps can be operated by tying together three outputs of a normal ballast factor T8 instant start ballast.

Hey, sorry if I am replying late, but thank you for the link to some. Also, do you mean instant start electronic T8 ballasts?

HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

I believe you could possibly get a 18w SOX low pressure sodium lamp to work off a 277v F20T12 preheat fluorescent choke using a FS4 fluorescent starter in parallel with the lamp and use a 120v-277v transformer to get the necessary input voltage for the choke. Here is a 277v F20T12 preheat choke: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254804624868?epid=1818789220&hash=item3b538a05e4:g:JFMAAOSwGbFf0wZaPlus a 120v-277v transformer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163638443115?hash=item26199c7c6b:g:fqoAAOSwJcZWdiXmYou could use this setup if you prefer magnetic ballasts over electronic ballasts at an affordable price.

I found a cheap 35/55w ballast if you want it. I meant something like this https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=800&pos=47&pid=136983 I believe connecting all 3 blue wires together would give close to the correct current for a 35/55w lamp (check the power consumption to make sure).

It is good to know that proper SOX low pressure sodium ballasts are extremely expensive in North America.

Are you going to buy those ballasts I posted? If not I'm sure someone else would be happy to have them.
