I just don't like them, sorry. The major reasons are (a) the colour (I don't like white for street lighting) and (b) the lack of choice. Around here, perfectly working HID lanterns were ripped out unceremoniously by the street-load and replaced with very poorly designed LED's that just throw light everywhere except where it's needed. It is so dark around here in places that we don't feel safe going out after dark.

If we'd had a choice, maybe I wouldn't hate them so much. When they first appeared on the market, I was quite interested, and even bought and used a few. Then everything else disappeared almost overnight, and we were told you MUST use LED.

No. Never going to happen. We have enough incandescent and discharge lamps in stock to see us out, so domestically we're fine. But with regard to street lights, again it's lack of choice that is my main objection. That and the fact that Sammi has night blindness and just can't see clearly under them. And white light is crap for street lighting anyway.

I hate the LED fixtures, I perfer retrofits.

I like LEDs, only if they kill off all the Cooper OVHs. Y’all know why.

I love the AEL DuraStars and the Cooper OVH

I just don't like being forced to put up with something I don't want or like and which is far less efficient than what was there before.
