Can the gears of HPS and MH be universal? « on: February 05, 2022, 08:57:10 PM » Author: bulb_tester2009
Anyway, I think some HPS and some MH can be used universally, such as Philips HPI-T Plus and SON-T Pia. However, MH does not support dimming, and HPS can dimming. Therefore, there is no way to use it in some cases. Otherwise, Yaming's MH and HPS ballasts will not need to be selected separately. :a_mh:  :a_son-t:

There are MH lamps that can be operated on HPS gear, and there are MH lamps that should be operated on MV gear.

There are some electronic ceramic metal halide ballasts that are designed to dim their respective lamps that exist.
