Brassenders (any color), deep blue, and powergrooves (decent price) « on: December 27, 2021, 03:07:48 AM » Author: desktoptrashcan
I’ve been wanting a deep blue fluorescent lamp as well as a fluorescent lamp with brass end caps (any color or color temperature) for a while now. It would round out my fluorescent collection (except for a powergroove, which I’m still looking for some at a decent price and not horribly inflated).

Here are some F96PG17/CW tubes for about $51 USD per tube, but there are only 2 available:

Luckily, this wholesaler does not sell by the case.

Unfortunately, they charge about $200 for shipping due to the fact that they have to use a special freight carrier.  :(
I tried that once. Never again.

It might take decades to find a powergroove tube that is decently priced especially due to the fact that they are getting more rare as time goes on.

Why the hurry and paying deep pockets for such PG lamps
I am working on securing the case of F72 cheaply

I saw a GE F15T8/D brassender installed in a two-lamp fluorescent desk light. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to leave (had to buy a part for one of my own fixtures). I’ll go back to that place later to get the fixture with the brassender.

Yeah, I was about to mention that most brassenders seemed to have been survivors found in desk lights so keep you eye out for them if you spot a desk lamp. If you're lucky you might be to buy the lamp separately or convince the owner to let you swap in a modern lamp.
