HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

| When browsing through modern North American market lamp catalogs, I have noticed that 3500K /W tubes are not listed in modern catalogs including the fluorescent tube sizes and lengths that were not affected by the 1995 EPACT ban. For example, I see that F20T12/W and F15T8/W fluorescent tubes are no longer made for the North American market. Why were all sizes of 3500K /W tubes got discontinued before the 2000s?

| Not enough demand to justify production?
Could be linked to these tubes sharing the same manufacturing line components (could be even maintaining the phosphor cartridge, used for phosphor coating, with that phosphor type in it) along with the high runner formats which were banned. So it was uneconomical to maintain those production parts just for the few lamp formats that were still allowed to sell.

| Most of those links actually show European market Triphosphor 835 fluorescent tubes and one link shows a North American 835 triphosphor F32T8 tube. The question is in regards to North American 3500K white tubes with a halophosphate formulation, which are pretty rare nowadays such as the F20T12/W tubes. Those tubes had a CRI of 57.

| Because whie tubes have lower light quailty in CRI while mass common CW with a CRI of 63 for 4100 K, so manufacture slowly abandon it manufacture /W lamps. Heck even find one from 1970s
Is rare lamp do low production.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly. Gotta love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

Did they still produced halophosphate?  Thank for the explanation about /W, i thought it was only about CCT. |
