CMP and Versant Power are in danger « on: November 13, 2021, 09:04:58 AM » Author: CreeRSW207
Well I saw this morning that 4 months ago, there was a big debate on whether to buy out both CMP and Versant power in favor of a local consumer owned company. EMEC will remain due to it already being local. Currently both companies are of foreign ownership. 3 months ago, governor Mills vetoed the bill but the supporters keep pushing forward and are talking about overriding the veto. What’s crazy is that my grandparents up in Old Town may end up having the same power company as my friend down in York! Who knows what this means for the lights and what the new company will have for a fixture preference. For now CMP and Versant remain, but there’s definitely going to be some controversy over the next couple of years.
