Tell me about it, I've put 110/120V bulbs onto 240V by mistake here as well, they usually last 10 seconds or less before they pop
50V lamps are even better
I would be afraid of those exploding
I've seen a video of a 120 volt 60 watt bulb on 240 Volts. It's nearly twice as bright and has a severely reduced lifespan. I think the rough service bulbs with longer filaments would endure double voltage for a longer time. I'm sure a pressurized halogen lamp would explode, violently.
