Do mogul snap-in sockets exist (pulse rated?) « on: July 23, 2016, 08:37:04 PM » Author: Lumex120
I am trying to build a small 50w sodium shoebox fixture from stuff I have laying around. I would like to use a mogul base lamp since it could fit. I am using a square cookie tin as a reflector, and would like to know if mogul snap-in sockets exist. If so, it would make this job somewhat easier...

What's a snap in socket?
A socket that can snap into a hole in metal. Much easier to install than screwing one in.

You could get a snap in Medium socket, and use a Medium to Mogul adapter.

I already thought of that, but it would not fit.

Make a separate assembly connected to the main reflector, then you will have it fit.

That would defeat the whole point of a snap-in socket...
I might just have to use a medium base lamp.

Why not contact a manufacturer to have then custom made?
