In Israel, there are two generic names for CFLs at the commercial sector: "PL" for externally ballasted CFLs (From Philips PL series), and "EL" for the self-ballasted energy saving CFLs (From Osram Dulux EL series). While the use of the word "PL" as a generic name for externally ballasted CFLs, has long been exist worldwide, it seems that the use of the word "EL" as a generic name for self-ballasted CFLs, exist only in Israel, as searching in google.com for "EL lamp" leads to results about ElectroLuminescent (EL) panels, while searching the same search word in hebrew (EL נורת) at google.co.il, eventually leads to energy saving CFLs. Are there other countries where energy saving CFLs descibed as "EL lamps" like in Israel?
