I'm little disappointed about bid on Westy F4T5/G (24 packs), I was put on first bid but someone bid after me and another someone bid...I believe everyone are die-hard favorite Westinghouse lamps lol! so I accept that so anyway If anyone from L-G or GOL win the bid for Westy F4T5/G I would like to buy 1 or 2 or trade. let me know

Ooh, those would be nice but I don't need 24 and the price keeps going up. If nobody here indicates that they have the winning bid, I'd consider trying for them and reselling some here.

Yeah, colored T5s don't come around often, but the price really shot up on these. Maybe the buyer will resell some of them. I'd be willing to pay a slightly higher price per lamp for a lower quantity.

I was the winning bidder and these will be used in battery operated closet lights which you can find at Wal-Mart. I will be carving several pumpkins with different patterns if I can find a carving kit and templates. I put each closet light in each pumpkin, swap out the chinese made F4T5/D and put the Westinghouse F4T5/G into each closet light. This idea is a lot more safer than candles!!!

Gaah! Extremely rare lamps like these in battery operated fixtures is a scary thought indeed! These would look cool in pumpkins, but seriously consider AC fixtures such as American Fluorescent MS-104, Lights of America 7104, or GE UCF Slim Line 10167 if you have a way to power them. Even cheap HF ballasts are considerably better than DC. You'll begin to see sputtering as soon as the batteries run low. Even if you always use fresh batteries, expect under 1,000 hours before EOL. Are you willing to sell a few or maybe trade for some AC fixtures if they don't sell any in your area?

+1 on using AC fixtures, those battery powered lights tend to underdrive even with new batteries and as the batteries run down the lamp often sputters and is killed by the ballast.
Those Westy T5s are pretty rare lamps and it would have been a shame to see them killed by a battery operated light IMO.

I lit one end of the green one I got from Funky Bulb. Just lighting the end is VERY bright. I will bring it to the radio station ( AM ) and hold the tube up to the tower......... Powell

+1 squillion about putting them in battery-powered lanterns, they WILL ruin these rare tubes quickly unless modified, even then they will have shorter lives than when run on proper gear.
All my lanterns are modified to drive the tubes correctly, if you must use these lanterns I'll give you instructions on how to do this (you'll also need to use rechargeable cells, preferably NI-MH for optimum performance and tube life).
Get some proper mains ballasts for these, it's well worth it!
