Are there any drive in movie theater where you are?

We don’t have any operating ones around here, unfortunately.

There was once in my town, before my time. Now all that’s left is an empty field full of semi trailers.

Further away, is another one that was also long gone, but quite a bit remains. It has been used for RV storage since I remember. But the old ticket booth, movie sign and the base of the screen are still intact, as well as a few other small buildings. It’s just the screen itself is long gone. I believe it closed in the 1980s and opened in the 1950s.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

Yeah I know of two a good distance from me. The one closest to me is still open and still gets packed whenever something is put on. Haven’t been there since a kid. The other is a quite a bit further from the other one but I don’t know much about it. Still open as well.

Nice, I know there are a few in Florida still open, and I hear about one of them on the radio often.

Drive-ins have that cool, old-school vibe. It sucks when they start disappearing. Honestly, I’ve always thought it’d be pretty fun to hit one up—just seems like a totally different experience from a regular theater. It’s like watching a movie under the stars with your car full of snacks and good company
