HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

If anybody is interested in finding out information about Toshiba’s lighting selection for the Japanese market between 1992 and 2024, here is a link that I have found that has several Toshiba Lighting catalogs that have information about Toshiba’s selection of lighting equipment and lamps intended for use in Japan: https://www.tlt.co.jp/tlt/catalog/catalog_view_past/catalog_view_past.htm

This is a useful resource that I have used for many years. But I find it a pity that for lamps section they only show the past couple of years. They have a very inconvenient viewer system that only allows PDF pages to be saved one page at a time, so it takes an eternity to download a copy and then reconstruct a single PDF file for the whole section and I do not have time for that. Then a year later they remove the older versions, so if we do not invest dozens of hours in manual downloads, the information is lost for ever.
I have written to Toshiba before to ask if they could provide PDF file for the entire lamps section for older catalogues, but they politely refused because the information is obsolete and no longer relevant to their business. Otherwise, I would have liked to maintain the information same as for other catalogues on my website.

Although the information may be inconvenient to access, it seems like the link that I posted might be the best link that I could find. Nonetheless, it is a good source of information for older Toshiba lamps though. For those who can’t read, write, or speak Japanese, taking screenshots of individual pages and using Google Translate or viewing the pages under Google Translate’s Google lens function might be the ways to read these catalogs in other languages.

The viewer isn't too annoying but it means that you can't easily archive the catalogues compared to saving a single PDF file. Since the viewer does allow you to download individual pages, I suppose you can probably write a script to go through each page and save each page individually as a PDF, then you just need to combine all the pages into a single document. Hopefully they don't have anything serverside to prevent automated downloading like this.
It'll probably still take some time to download the pages individually, even with a script but at least it'll be automated so you can just leave your computer on overnight and let it download that way.

That is a very interesting idea! I have no experience in making such kind of scripts a d did not even know it might be possible. I will have a look into that - or if anyone knows how to do it, and any assistance would be much appreciated!

I also have been noticing a similar situation with some of the older National/Panasonic catalogs, but the Mitsubishi catalogs can easily be downloaded as individual PDFs.
