I think more specialized HID lamps, such as ones for horticulture, projection, printing, UV curing, blacklight, etc will probably see limited production. Especially the ones as part of a specialized piece of equipment that would be cost prohibitive to replace.

Now for general lighting unfortunately, I think we'll see a slow decline in HID production, especially as we get closer to the 2030s as countries start to ban HID sources for general lighting.

I also wonder how much longer will the ballasts be made for, I'm guessing they probably still make them since the still make fluorescent ballasts, even T12 ballasts.

Unfortunately, they are discontinuing the ballasts too along with the fixtures from the article I read.

That really is a shame to hear, RIP. This is why Im always tryna get my hands on as many HID Fixtures, Ballasts and bulbs as I can. Long live HID!!!!!! :lps: :hps: :mv: :emh:
