I know very little about them, but I can say that GE specially designed these for the city of LA in the 60s. They were once used a lot in the hillside areas of the city, but most were replaced by HPS. However theres a nice string of them in a Chatsworth neighborhood which is in the San Feranado Valley portion of LA.

Time to bump this topic.

Have never seen or heard of the GE Hillsider. Don't even know what they look like. Is anyone else familiar with these?

The only other custom GE fixture for SoCal that I can think of is the Mission Bell roadway luminaire.
