Auditorium Lights « on: November 25, 2024, 02:44:56 PM » Author: Emersyn
I didn't feel these images were high quality enough for a gallery post, so I'm putting them in a forum post:

These fixtures are on either stairwell of the auditorium that go from the seating area to the stage. They are from the 1960s.

The first fixture in the images attached below was running two General Electric F32T8s but it seems the ballast failed over the summer break. I came to class on Thursday to find that the fixture had been converted to T-12, running two 2010 or 2020 Philips Alto F34T12s! Also notice how the ballast channel says "USE RAPID START LAMPS"...

And secondly (to make sure the images don't break the attachment size limit):

The other fixture still has two F32T8s and is in a rather sad state. One lamp works fine, but the other end fell out of it's socket on one end and is hanging on by one pin on the other end. On the end that it is hanging on by, it is glowing red and the end is rather blackened.

Those are nice. All of the old stuff at my high school was removed in 2017 meaning that I never saw it. :-[ There were a couple of 70s fluorescents backstage at the hall though.

We had some older halogen stagelights which were rarely lit. Always a treat when they were on though. :D

Hello,

We still have 1930s CCFL auditorium lights, however the tubes have been changed with new CCLs over the years...

Best regards,

There are about 7 large like halogen stage lights sitting backstage, my theater teacher says they were donated and haven't been installed yet- The large ones at the ceiling got a few relampings over the past few months, there used to be only 2 on one side and 5 on the other working but now there are 6 and 6!

I'm curious what do the CCFL lights look like?
