I wonder if anyone remembers Fry’s stores upgrading their metal halide high bay fixtures to more efficient metal halide high bay fixtures:
https://youtu.be/Z1AT-uwrafg?si=MhJnMxVFglYlsAxFIn this situation, 400W M59 probe start metal halide fixtures would get replaced with 320W M132/M154 pulse start metal halide fixtures with electronic ballasts. I personally think that upgrading to more efficient metal halide lighting is way better than upgrading to LED. I think these newer metal halide high bay fixtures still look like more realistic high bay fixtures compared to the strange designs that I often see with LED high bay fixtures. Additionally, I also remember the Fry’s stores using open bottom high bay fixtures before they replaced them with these electronically ballasted enclosed high bay fixtures.
