Trying to make any Linux-based distribution your everyday OS while keeping Windows habits and mindsets is nothing but a recipe for frustration! I still kinda miss the convenience of Windows-style program installations. Linux packages *SORT OF* achieve the same convenience.

...did someone say dependencies?  :mrg:

That said I remember these clip on glass filters being sold at computer stores and used by some people as added protection. I always felt those were a bit gimmicky though.

They make pretty good teleprompters when used with an old 4:3 LCD monitor.  8)

Ah, that's where you're going wrong, Vince

I ditched the Windoze mindset years ago..! I do still keep an extremely customised version of Win10 as a dual boot on my laptop, but only because I have a couple of specialist programs that won't run under Linux. I did try and get a VM running to use Windoze on, but I couldn't get it to work, no idea what I was doing wrong, but obviously something..! Might have another go sometime, but there's no rush, the thing only gets booted up two or three times a year when I need to use those programs (one for updating the maps on my satnav, the other for programming my 2-way radios).
