Yeah sooner or later one will probably show up too. Plus there are probably a ton of used examples. I sometimes find it more rewarding to strip down a used light, clean it up, prep it for paint and paint it myself compared to using a NOS light. I'm also less hesitant to used my restored lights compared to my NOS lights. I agree with lights just showing up when you least expect it. I got my OV-10 with missing glass from a local seller thinking I'd never find the correct glass for it and then a few months later the glass showed up for sale. Now I have a complete OV-10 but if I didn't get the OV-10 with missing glass first I'd probably be kicking myself when I saw the glass show up. I got this randomly at the Restore. Where it sat from 1976 to 2019 is beyond me. This sat on a shelf for 17 years before showing up at the Restore. Then I discovered these at a antique market. And this was sitting on a hardware store shelf for 27 years before I decided to grab it. This was before I used eBay too so finding a vintage MV lamp was something I'd never imagine I'd find locally.

At least a used 165 or M400A would make a great restoration idea!

That is a shame, I knew it was coming though. The AEL 165 and GE Powr/Bracket were major childhood fixtures for me and what got me interested in HID lighting mainly. There are still a few 165s in use here.
You also had the Cooper VAN Vanguard and AEL Dusk to Dawn ballast in arm fixtures which were also discontinued.

Oh I feel the same way exactly. I'd also rather save an old used example anyway vs finding a NOS one. It feels more rewarding that way, particularly if it was one that help personal significance. And I'd rather use an already weathered broken-in example than putting a brand new one out in the weather, particularly if it's one that's no longer produced.
